IP-ART VISUAL ART AWARD WINNER 2009

Childhood Remixed

Ipswich based Multidisciplinary Artist and Techno Anthropologist Matthew C. Applegate a.k.a. chip-tune musician Pixelh8 will create a new, interactive sonic installation that posits a nostalgic celebration of a Childhood Remixed. From recollecting the significance of childhood visits to Ipswich Carboot Sales Matthew will develop the artwork by participating in the traditional pursuit of bargains and valuables. Immersing himself in the familiar environment, to retrieve both memories and salvage familiar automated and musical toys from which to fabricate a technically and conceptually interactive sonic installation.

A series of exciting and innovative events and workshops will accompany the exhibition during the THE IPSWICH ARTS FESTIVAL.
