This year Ipswich Borough Council’s Town Hall Galleries, Ipswich have collaborated with The New Wolsey Theatre’s PULSE Fringe Festival, extending the usual career development opportunity for young and emerging talent to incorporate the outputs of contemporary visual artists.

From an open call for submission targeted at emerging practitioners wishing to put new work ‘out there’ for the first time, six artists were selected to show work in both gallery and theatre venues. The culminating exhibition, was not determined by a specific curatorial agenda, demonstrated an exciting range of individual practices - from painting to sound, static installation to durational performance - exposing individual praxes, while consolidating into an incidentally cohesive whole.
