YOUNG PEOPLE’S ART SPACE
12 - 15 February 2008 - SPRING HALF TERM
Council Chamber

Building on the success of the young people’s art exhibition In Our Neighbourhoodz hosted at the Town Hall Galleries over the 2007 October half term, spring / autumn half-term holidays have become fixtures in the exhibition programme dedicated to showcasing and engaging a diversity of creative talents from young people from the Ipswich Community.

This was a chance for anybody under the age of 25 to display their ideas and creative talents within the context of a public Art Gallery. THG used the Council Chamber space as a ‘platform’ for exhibition, experimentation, for both static and live pieces, and can be used as a testing ground for trying out new material and all sorts of creative outputs including performance, music, film, food, entertainment…etc

Councillor Judy Terry, Ipswich Borough Council's Arts, Culture & Leisure portfolio-holder, said: "We know there is a tremendous amount of artistic talent among young people in our town and we want them to come forward. The Town Hall Galleries are a great showcase so please take advantage of them and show what you can do."
