CHANGING IPSWICH: OPEN SUBMISSION EXHIBITION

Ipswich is changing all the time and never was it more apparent than 2006 with so many new developments around the town. But what did the people of Ipswich really think about these changes?

We asked people to represent in art exactly how they feel about this developing town.
The exhibition was open for all - Mums, Dads, Kids, Families, Groups, Artists, non-artists . . . everyone - to submit work.

Everyone had their own story to tell – there was work by people who are Ipswich born-and-bred - highlighting the changes they have seen, alongside work by those newer to the area who have recorded their first impressions of the town. There was a variety of work to be seen from representational scenes to more abstract work focussing on feelings and memories of Ipswich past and present.

This eclectic show featured 90 works by 60 artists:
